How it is calculated
Telangana pay scales are segments of a single Master Scale of 81 fixed stages (G.O.Ms.No.51 dt. 11-06-2021). Your annual increment is not a percentage — it is the gap to the next stage, fixed by where you stand on the scale. Under FR 26 the increment accrues on completion of 12 months of qualifying service and is drawn with monetary benefit from the 1st of the month in which it falls due. All leave except Extraordinary Leave on private affairs counts as qualifying service; EOL on private affairs pushes the date forward day for day. On reaching the maximum of your scale you become eligible for five stagnation increments, which count as pay for DA, HRA, CCA, pension and future promotion fixation.
