How it is calculated
HRA = Basic Pay × HRA rate ÷ 100. The rate depends on the classification of your place of duty — use the percentage shown on your own pay slip if you are unsure.
Example
Example: Basic Pay ₹60,480 at 13% gives HRA of ₹7,862 per month. Slabs under G.O.Ms.No.53 (11-06-2021): 24% GHMC, 17%, 13% and 11% by place of duty. The higher 27% / 18.5% / 14% / 11.5% rates apply only when DA exceeds 50% of basic pay; RPS 2020 DA is 40.04% now.
