How it is calculated
Employees who joined on or before 31-08-2004 are governed by the Telangana Revised Pension Rules, 1980. Service pension is last pay drawn × qualifying half-years ÷ 66, so full pension — half of last pay — is reached at 33 years, and up to 5 years\u2019 weightage may be added under Rule 29. Three months or more counts as a half-year. Retirement gratuity is (pay + DA) × half-years ÷ 4, subject to a ceiling of ₹16,00,000. Up to 40% of the pension may be commuted; the lump sum is commuted portion × 12 × the commutation factor for your age next birthday, and the commuted portion is restored after 15 years. Minimum pension is ₹9,500. Employees who joined on or after 01-09-2004 are covered by the Contributory Pension Scheme, where the benefit depends on the accumulated corpus, not on last pay.
