- Background: Under G.O.(P) No.10/1993 deputation cannot exceed 5 years (initial 3 years + up to 2 years' extension; 7 years for police to Railways / CBI). Yet employees were kept beyond 5 years, or sent back on deputation soon after repatriation.
- Orders: (i) After completing the full 5 years, an employee must work at least one year in the parent department before being considered for further deputation. (ii) Those repatriated on promotion — not until probation in the promoted post is completed. (iii) Those repatriated for disciplinary reasons — not until the case is closed and punishment period is over. (iv) Those repatriated for other reasons — not until they work at least 6 months in the parent department, excluding leave.
- Local cadres: Deputation from one local-cadre post to another is not permitted; must follow the Presidential Order and G.O.Ms.No.610/1985.

(ii) పదోన్నతిపై తిరిగి వచ్చినవారు — పదోన్నతి పోస్టులో ప్రొబేషన్ పూర్తయ్యే వరకు కాదు. (iii) క్రమశిక్షణా కారణాలపై తిరిగి వచ్చినవారు — కేసు ముగిసి, శిక్షా కాలం పూర్తయ్యే వరకు కాదు. (iv) ఇతర కారణాలపై తిరిగి వచ్చినవారు — సెలవులు మినహాయించి మాతృ శాఖలో కనీసం 6 నెలలు పనిచేసే వరకు కాదు.
- లోకల్ కేడర్: ఒక లోకల్ కేడర్ పోస్టు నుంచి మరో లోకల్ కేడర్ పోస్టుకు డిప్యుటేషన్ అనుమతి లేదు; రాష్ట్రపతి ఉత్తర్వు, జీవో 610/1985 పాటించాలి.
